Now when I look back I am really glad I added AXA Full Coverage when I booked on QEEQ because if I had to pay that 300 euro tire damage all by myself I think I would be really mad. The whole thing is finished now. The insurance side has already sent the money and they followed the bill amount so the claim is successful and I finally feel relaxed. If I move a bit back in time my days were kind of wrapped around this claim. Every few days I contacted customer service and kept asking in my head what document is still missing. They explained that the rental company was not very helpful and some papers like the damage report were not complete or did not look right. I was worried and a bit annoyed. I could only push them and also check my own emails and photos to see if I could find anything useful to send. Earlier than that the insurance company was already checking my case and they asked me to confirm the amount and the currency. When I saw that message I felt lighter. At least it meant the case was moving and not stuck. After I confirmed it I checked my email almost every day because I did not want to miss any update. Every time customer service contacted me and said there was some progress I told myself okay it is finally moving again. If I go even further back it was the moment I found out I was charged 300 euro for tire damage. That day I returned the car in Tirana in Albania. The time was a bit later than the original plan maybe around nine in the evening. I drove the Opel Mokka from Felirent back to the return place. The staff walked around the car and then pointed at the tire and said there was a problem. I felt confused and thought this is really bad luck. They soon told me I had to pay around 300 euro. In that moment I only had one clear thought. I was lucky that I chose AXA Full Coverage when I booked. As a young person my budget is not big and this kind of sudden cost feels really heavy. The pick up day was normal. It was around the morning of February 9 close to half past nine when I got the car in Tirana. I saw it was an automatic Opel Mokka with four doors and five seats. It felt good for me because I did not want a car that was hard to drive. I took some quick photos of the body and the tires and I told myself I have insurance so it should be fine but more photos cannot hurt. I did not expect that these photos would become important later. When I started the claim the progress at the beginning was very slow. I was pretty frustrated and I kept thinking why is the rental company not answering. I also asked customer service if I should contact the rental company myself. They said I could try to push them too. So I sent emails to the rental company and explained that I needed a clear bill or damage document so the insurance people could understand it. During that period it felt like everyone was trying to push the case forward but the speed was not as fast as I wished. I remember I called several times just to check where the case was stuck. Sometimes it was because the file from the rental company was not right. Sometimes it was because they were still checking. I felt a bit lost when I heard all this but I could feel that they kept following my case. For me the most important part is that AXA Full Coverage finally accepted the tire damage and covered the money that the rental company charged me. The whole experience was a bit tiring but AXA Full Coverage was really useful for my student level budget. The process took some time but once the money came back I did not feel so upset anymore. If I rent a car again in the future I will probably add this insurance again so I can feel less scared about sudden costs.
