I could focus on getting ready to use the car instead of always thinking about money and card limit. On July 18 in the evening I returned the car in Madrid. The process was quick. At home I checked my credit card again and the amount matched the price I saw before. No weird stuff showed up. When I look back the thing I remember most is not the car. It is that at the start I only paid 1 dollar so I never had that feeling that my card was suddenly empty. For someone like me who is still learning how to manage money this setup feels very friendly and my credit card pressure is much lower.
