When I think about this trip now, the thing I feel most lucky about is that I added AXA Full Coverage when I booked with QEEQ. Without it, this small car accident in Milan with my kids would have been a nightmare for me. I returned the car on June 10 in the afternoon. I drove the Ford nine seat van back to the Milan office. The kids were in the back, still arguing about which day was the most fun. The staff walked around the car to check it. My heart was not calm at all, because a few days before, on a narrow street, I had scratched the side of the car. The kids were noisy in the back, I was nervous and in a hurry, and I only took a few photos of the scratch. The staff pointed at the scratch and spoke in a serious voice. He said they had to charge me for the damage. In my head I just thought, this is bad, this will cost a lot. When they told me it was more than two hundred euro, I felt my face go pale. I had to calm the kids and also think about this money at the same time. At that moment I really understood how important that AXA Full Coverage was. When I talked to the customer service team my voice was a bit shaky. I kept thinking, will they really pay me back, will this be super hard. They asked me to send all the things I had, like the damage photos and the paper from the rental office. I was putting the kids to sleep and also searching my phone for pictures and files. I kept telling myself to stay calm and that this could be fixed. Later there was a small difference between the damage amount on the paper and what was actually charged on my card. It was only a few euro and I was not sure if it was because of the exchange rate. I just told the customer service team honestly that this was the only amount taken from my card. They checked with me again and again and told me to wait for the final bill and send it to them so they could keep helping with the claim. I felt much more relaxed, like I was not dealing with this alone. Traveling with kids is already much harder than traveling alone and I do not really understand all the rental car rules in another country. Those days I opened my email and bank app every day, waiting for the bill, so I could send it over and let AXA Full Coverage take care of this damage. I was a bit worried sometimes, but most of the time I felt protected. I made a mistake and scratched the car, but with this insurance it did not have to turn into a bill that I would regret for a long time.
