That day I was lying on my bed with my phone. The light outside was that soft Spain evening light. A bit golden. I was checking all the costs for my Madrid trip. I opened my booking with QEEQ. I was thinking what if I arrive at Madrid airport and the rental counter cannot find my booking. To be sure I sent a message to customer service. They replied pretty fast and checked the new order number and the pick up time with me. They told me everything was fine and I just needed to go to the Record Go desk and get my Seat Ibiza. That answer made me feel calm again. That night back in my room I opened the booking again. The pick up time showed June eleven in the evening a little after eight. The return time showed June thirteen same time. I started to imagine myself pulling my suitcase to the rental area. I see a small white or red car waiting there. I open the door and that is the start of my two days in Madrid. When I thought about this I felt like my trip was being looked after in a quiet way. Not some crazy VIP thing. Just someone watching the price for me and grabbing a cheaper one when it appears. I told my friends about it. They were surprised and asked if I had canceled and booked again by myself. I said no. I did nothing. I just booked once and Price Drop Protector did the job later. My friend joked that I got a small travel scholarship. I laughed because it really felt like free extra money. The price difference was only 9.57 euros. It is not a big number on paper. But for me the experience was special. Before this I always thought platforms only make prices go up and never give money back when the price goes down. This was the first time I felt the system was on my side. When I finally fly to Madrid and pick up that Seat Ibiza at the airport I know I will remember this detail. That little refund makes this rental feel a bit different.
