Why are you smiling like that my friend asked me on a video call I said I just checked my credit card and I kind of got some money back I booked a car for my Spain trip in Barcelona through QEEQ I plan to go there in the middle of June I will pick up a small Fiat 500 from OK Mobility in Barcelona around the afternoon on the 13th and return it in the afternoon on the 19th Same city same place just a small manual car for four days or so When I made the booking I felt the price was okay so I just locked it in for my trip When I was booking I saw a service called Price Drop Protector It said if the price went down later they would rebook for me and give me the difference I did not think too much about it I just clicked it It was not very expensive and I felt it was like a small safety net Some days later I was on a bus and checking my email I saw a new email with my order number in the title I thought I messed up the date or the car or something I opened it and saw that they told me my old booking price and a new cheaper price They said my booking was changed to the cheaper one I was a bit confused so I checked my old order number and the new one The car group was still like a Fiat 500 The time was still around mid June picking up in the afternoon and returning in the afternoon a few days later The place was still Barcelona Nothing big changed Only the price went down by a few pounds I still felt it was a bit strange so I opened my credit card app I looked at the payments and I saw the original charge and another line that was a bit lower When I compared them I could see there was about seven pounds and a bit that came back to my card The amount was not huge but it felt like someone just gave me a small hidden gift I told my friend that at the start I never thought this service would really do anything Normally when we book a car we do not sit there and watch the price every day If we want to change it we have to compare the cars and the times again and it is a lot of work This time they just did it for me in the background My dates in June stayed the same The car was still the small Fiat in Barcelona I did not have to click or confirm anything When I noticed it the money was already back I remembered how I felt on the day I booked At that time I was not sure if I should wait in case the price dropped I was also afraid that if I waited the price might go higher So when I saw Price Drop Protector I just thought okay I will book now If it gets cheaper they will watch it for me Now when I look back that small click was quite worth it It shows that they really kept checking the price for me For someone like me who flies from the UK to Spain there are already many things to plan I have to book flights and hotels and think about where to go I do not really have the time or energy to chase every small change in car rental price In the end my plan stays the same I will still drive a small Fiat 500 around Barcelona in mid June But I spent less money than I first thought I can use the saved money for an extra coffee or a small souvenir The feeling is pretty nice It is not a big win but it feels real and helpful This whole thing made me remember this feature quite clearly and I feel like they really helped me save a bit without me doing anything extra
