My phone buzzed, I checked my bill and it was really only 1 dollar taken. I felt relaxed right away and it felt like my booking was safe. A few days later I was working on my whole trip. Flight and hotel already cost a lot. If the full rental fee was charged at the start my card limit would feel very tight. With this setup it only used 1 dollar first and the full amount would be charged closer to my start date. I could still use my card for other business costs and the pressure was not so high. I even told my colleague “This way is pretty nice for business travel, cash flow feels more flexible.” When it was close to my trip I got a payment notice. The amount was the same as the price I saw before and there were no strange extra fees. I did not need to go in and pay again by myself. I just went to Bangkok and then to DRIVE CAR RENTAL to pick up the BYD Seal 05DM-i at the time I booked. For me the whole flow was really simple. First I used 1 dollar to hold the car then when the trip was near the rest of the money was charged by itself. From this experience what stayed in my mind was not only the car but this way of booking with just 1 dollar at the start. It really made the pressure on my credit card much lower. I travel for work quite often and my schedule can change. It feels safe to lock in a car early without paying the full amount right away. For me this One-Dollar Freeze payment plan is a strong reason to use QEEQ again in the future.
