I have to say first that this time I actually saved money and it felt pretty nice, like I got free money. I was looking for a car in Tirana Albania, something like a small SUV similar to a Hyundai Venue. My plan was to pick up around May 10 and return around May 23, and I kept doing the math in my head about the budget. I was also thinking maybe I could drive to North Macedonia. When I booked, I chose the Price Drop Protector. I did not think too much about it. I just felt it might help me save some money and I would not need to watch the price every day. A few days later I suddenly got an email from them. It said the price for my booking went down and they already rebooked a car in the same group for me and would refund me the difference. My first reaction was like, what, I did nothing and I saved more than twenty euros. I checked the order number and the amount and made sure it was still the same car group, not some bad downgrade. In that moment I felt pretty safe, like I did not get hit by the price changes. I told my friend and he thought I must have sent many emails to argue with them, but I did nothing at all. I just followed my normal trip plan. For someone like me who flies in from another country, this money is not small when I think about the exchange rate. It is enough for one or two extra local meals. When I looked at my trip budget again, I felt a little proud that I clicked that service at the start.
