That evening in Zakynthos the sky was still bright and the wind came from the sea. I was looking at my booking on my phone and I felt very relaxed. A few days before around June fourth I had booked a Nissan Micra with OK Mobility. Manual gear. Small car. Four doors and five seats. It felt just right for me as a tourist who likes to drive around a lot. The best part for me was the One-Dollar Freeze. When I made the booking I only paid one dollar. In that moment it felt a bit magic. It was like I just saved a spot and did not need to put all the money on my credit card at once. When I walked out from the counter I thought again about that one dollar moment and I almost laughed. It felt like I had made a small deal with my future self. The car was parked outside. The blue body of the Micra was shining in the sunset. I pulled my luggage and walked to the car. In my mind I said that if every booking could start like this with just a small payment first and the rest later then the days before the trip would be much less stressful.
