I have to complain first because I always thought renting a car means paying a big amount at once, but this time when I booked a car in Palermo with QEEQ I only paid 1 dollar at the start. I really thought I read it wrong. Then I checked again and saw it was their One-Dollar Freeze plan. You pay a tiny amount to lock the car and the rest is charged automatically closer to the pick up day. In my head I was like okay nice my card will not feel so much pressure for a while. I was traveling alone to Sicily and I booked the car online in early June. I was still thinking if I should add an extra driver. I added one extra driver in the end but I still only paid 1 dollar first. It felt like I just saved my spot and could relax. If my plan changed I would not have all the money stuck from day one. When it got close to my pick up time in mid June in Palermo I suddenly remembered this and got a bit nervous. I thought maybe the payment did not go through and the rental office would say I did not pay. I checked my card and the rest of the rental fee was already charged. There was no strange extra cost. I did not need to set a reminder to pay and I did not need to worry about any interest or something. The whole booking felt very simple. For someone like me who travels alone and cares about budget this pay 1 dollar first and then pay the rest automatically really helps. It keeps my credit card from feeling too heavy at the moment I make the booking.
