I want to say first that I actually like this One-Dollar Freeze experience with QEEQ. When I was driving in Calgary to meet my clients I suddenly remembered that when I made the booking before there was almost no pressure on me. That day I picked up the car in Calgary around midday on May 11 and I returned it the next morning in Banff. My schedule was very tight and I had many people to meet. My budget and cash flow were a bit tight too and I did not want a big amount stuck on my credit card at once. I thought about how I only paid 1 dollar when I booked and the car was already locked for me and I felt more relaxed. Before the rental started they took the rest of the money automatically. I just saw the normal charge on my card. There was no extra fee and no strange charge so I did not really worry about the payment during the whole trip. When I think back to the booking day I was in front of my laptop checking prices from different platforms and car companies. I had to think about flights hotels and client visits at the same time and my head was a bit messy. I was also afraid of a sudden price change or my card limit not being enough if they took a big payment at once. When I saw that I could pay only 1 dollar first to make the booking I felt it was very good for someone like me who travels for business a lot. After I clicked to book I checked my credit card and there was only that 1 dollar. My card limit still looked quite free so I could arrange hotels and flights more easily. A few days later I got a reminder that the pick up day was coming. Then I remembered that the rest of the payment was not paid yet. I found out that I did not need to do anything. They charged the rest by themselves before the pick up time. I opened my credit card app and saw that the amount was the same as in the order. There was no interest and no extra cost like an installment fee so I felt this design was very easy to use. When I went to the counter to get the car I did not really think about money. I just showed my documents and my order. They gave me a Nissan Kicks and I signed and left. Since the booking and payment were already done they just followed their own process and it went smooth for me. For me the best part is that at the start I only paid 1 dollar so the pressure on my credit card was small. I could keep more limit for other business costs. This feeling is important for people who travel a lot for work. At least on this trip I was not stressed by a big hold on my card. The whole thing for me was that I first locked the car easily then the payment was done automatically. I did not need to watch the bill or think about paying again and I did not need to worry about any interest or extra fees. This fits my business travel style quite well.
