I chose a Citroen Berlingo from Alamo with automatic gear and seven seats. It looks more like a business car and is good if colleagues need to ride with me. My pickup time was around May 10 in the morning at about ten and I planned to return the car around May 13 in the evening at about six so I had some buffer time before and after my meetings. When I booked it showed that I only needed to pay 1 dollar first. After I checked all the details they charged that small amount and my card was not blocked by a big number. I felt much lighter because I still had to pay for hotel and flights. If my plan changed I would not have a big car rental cost stuck there. Close to the rental start the rest of the fee was charged automatically. I almost did nothing and I did not see any interest or strange extra cost. The bill looked very clear. This whole process gave me very low pressure. I could focus on my work plan first and then see if I needed to adjust anything. Paying only 1 dollar to hold the car works really well for someone like me who travels for business a lot and it really reduces the pressure on my credit card.
