I started with a simple feeling. I just wanted less pressure on my card. When I saw One-Dollar Freeze on QEEQ I asked myself is it really only one dollar first. I told myself just try it because I travel for business and my credit card already has many holds. When I booked the car the amount that went through was really just 1 dollar. I still wondered if they would charge everything right away after that. A few days later I checked my statement. It was still only that 1 dollar so I felt more calm. Then it got close to the week I would pick up the car in Muscat. I asked myself when will they take the rest. Do I need to click anything. In the end I did nothing extra. Around one or two days before pick up I saw the full rental charge appear on my card. The amount was the same as my order and there was no extra fee. I felt like ok so there is really no interest and no strange charge. For me as a business traveler it is very helpful because I can lock the car by paying only 1 dollar first. The pressure on my credit card is much lower and I can keep my limit for hotels and flights during that time. It feels easier to manage my money this way.
